Pikes Peak River Runners
Special river dog
named Brandy needs a home
MAY 1, 2006- Brandy was
adopted!
Anne (our Pikes Peak River Runners
soft-hearted vet) has saved the perfect river dog who needs a home.
John is fostering Brandy so she doesn't have to stay cooped up in a
hospital run while awaiting her new home.
Many club members are dog lovers and Anne knows that many of us understand
what a good dog brings to your life. By the way, Brandy loves water and has
great potential as a river dog.

Above are some photos of Brandy. She is a delightful four year old spayed
female golden retriever with Addison's disease. The good news for her is
that with a single shot once a month she can live a perfectly normal,
healthy life. The bad news for her is that the shot costs about $100 a
month, and although her family loves her very much, they cannot afford her
medication. So as her veterinarian, rather than euthanizing her I agreed to
take her in and see if I can find a suitable home for her with someone who
could afford her medication. She has all the great sunny cheerfull-ness and
optimistic attitude that makes Golden's such a beloved breed. She would do
anything to make you happy, but she is a little on the dopey side, so she
may need some guidance in that department. Since she is four years old she
is through the crazy puppy phase and now she is a mature but energetic young
adult. Anyone who is interested can let me know at
