The
Outdoor Dutch Oven Cookbook by Sheila Mills What to bring: Your personal dutch oven (and tools associated with DO cooking) to prepare and share the eating of your prize-winning dish at the cook-off. If you prefer not to prepare a dutch oven dish, please bring a side dish to share at the potluck. Suggestions include; desserts, chips/dip, salad, etc... In addition, bring your own beverages. For helpful Dutch Oven cooking hints visit our Dutch Oven Cooking page or buy a Pikes Peak River Runners cookbook. If you want to prepare a DO entry but don't own a DO, contact me (Christina King email below) and I can try to bring an extra DO for you to cook in. Judging: We expect to begin judging (and soon thereafter eating) at noon on Saturday so plan on arriving at 11 am to prepare your DO entry! Barb is our honorary judge and you can begin brown-nosing her immediately. Any other club members who do not enter a DO entry will also be judges/voters. There are no rules in this contest but we do have good prizes that are really easy to win. The top three entries will each win a Dutch Oven cookbook. Please bring enough paper copies of your DO entry recipe to share and we'll also include it in our next Pikes Peak River Runners cookbook printing. The Pikes Peak River Runners club will provide charcoal and lighter fluid to share. Please RSVP to Christina King at privateboater@warpdriveonline.com so we can coordinate the food and DO entries. Don't forget to bring this season's boating pictures to show everyone. This will be our last club meeting until March 2006. |
